Last Sunday, we held a practical painting workshop with Ben Fox and Kate Fielding from Willurarra Creative, Australia. It was a very fun and enriching workshop. Even a few hours before the workshop begin, happy dancing music has already played non-stop at Lir. ;)
First, Kate makes everyone moves and dance a little to loosen up a bit. Then, there were games introducing everyone to the basic of anatomy.. the upper-side of the body, the middle-side, and the lower side. No..not in some 'serious' class-style technique but more like a fun games in a gathering party. Ben also introduces everyone to several kinds of animal and human's eye-shapes and expressions before jumping to the painting part.
After another dancing move, everyone started to paint the eyes..freely! It's so nice seeing everyone busy and proud of their own creations.. even better when it's hanged in our mini gallery as a growing exhibition. Growing, because some of our loyal guess still has the chance to work on their creations too and the number of eyes hanging prettily in our Space is increasing in a daily basis!
The end of this day also note the beginning of "The Eyes Have It" installation exhibition and the soft opening of our mini gallery, Space. The exhibition is going on from July 10th to July 17th, 2011. Make sure you won't miss it! It's simply incredible.
